T.H. TERROIR HUNTER RARITIES
During our constant search for special lots to make wines for our Terroir Hunter Range, we sometimes discover hidden gems. A handful of barrels of wines that are special, unique and often very unusual. Wines, which need one another in order to achieve balance and find harmonic expression. These rare finds have given rise to T.H. Rarities; singular, unconventional blends, which are dynamic over time and often unrepeatable, form year to year.

Origen
The grapes come from our vineyard planted in 1940 on gentle slopes composed of granite and facing south. It is located 20 km northeast of the town of Cauquenes, in the Maule Valley. Cultivated using the ancient head training system, grafted onto nearly 70-year-old Pais vines, in dry-farmed conditions.
Variety: Garnacha-Cariñena-Monastrell
tasting notes:
This wine presents a deep and intense violet-red color. On the nose, it is complex, with a high aromatic intensity, featuring prominent notes of wild fruits layered over a backdrop of spicy and fresh herbal notes that blend with subtle floral and earthy touches. On the palate, it is elegant with a very good structure, firm and balanced tannins. It is a unique wine due to its juicy, intense, and fresh profile with a medium palate of concentrated and deep flavors, boasting great expansiveness.
Origin
The grapes are from century-old vines of the País and Cinsault varieties. They are planted in the dry terrain of Maule, 22 kilometres from Cauquenes, in an area known as La Soledad.
The Cauquenes area is part of the Maule denomination of origin and is located 350 kilometres to the south of Santiago. The vineyard was planted in 1950. It has deep clay soils with high levels of granite, quartz and areas with basalt.
Variety: País- Cinsault
tasting notes:
Garnet-coloured, shiny and delicate with ruby hues. On the nose, this wine is fruitier than the previous vintage, with notes of fresh and candied red fruit, intriguing dried fig and sweet toast aromas from the time spent in barrels, accompanied with subtle notes of spice, liquorice and menthol. In the mouth, the wine is juicy, fresh and light with friendly tannins, but with greater tannic structure and a saline note in the finish.
Origin
The Montepulciano grapes have come from a selected vineyard planted exclusively with this variety in the Cauquenes area of the Maule Valley. The vineyards are 80 years old and have soft soils containing lots of granite, clay and quartz. The vines have been trained into the old gobelet form, dry-farmed and managed with minimal intervention.
Variety: 100% Montepulciano
tasting notes:
Garnet-coloured with violet hues, shiny and deep. On the nose, aromas of black fruit from southern Chile like blackberries, maqui berries, rosehips and candied fruit, along with elegant spicy notes like cloves, liquorice and pink pepper.
In the mouth, this is a structured and intense wine with pronounced tannins and a delicious chalky texture. The finish is complex and very long.
Origin
The grapes come from a small selected vineyard in Valle de Leyda, a renowned sub-region of San Antonio.
Variety: 70% Riesling – 30% Sauvignon Gris
tasting notes:
Orange in colour from its fermentation and maceration with the skins, this wine offers good texture and a structure more akin to that of a red wine. Two outstanding Leyda varieties, Riesling and Sauvignon Gris, give rise to this expressive wine with very fragrant complex, commanding aromas and floral notes of orange blossoms and white fruit. The palate features prominent tannins, thanks to contact with the pomace, and abundant white fruit such as peach, quince and some apricot. This is a very refreshing, vertical and mineral wine that retains the delicacy and freshness of its origin. Tremendous cellaring potential.
