“Pili,” as she is known to everyone, has vast experience in the field. She has worked in several different countries and with important Chilean winemakers including Hernán Amenábar and Rafael Urrejola of Viña Undurraga and Concha y Toro’s Ignacio Recabarren.
This young winemaker is bold, intrepid, and passionate about her work. She joined Undurraga in 2009 as the winemaker responsible for providing support for fine wine production. Since 2014, she has overseen the production of wines for our award-winning line Gran Reserva Sibaris.
Pilar has a long-standing interest in learning about different winemaking styles, which has led her to experience emblematic wine regions such as Marlborough in New Zealand, where she participated in a harvest with the Nobilo Group, a company famous for its Sauvignon Blanc; Burgundy, France, where she made Chardonnay and Pinot Noir for the traditional Domaine Roux Père et Fils; and the Napa Valley in the United States, where she worked with over ten varieties under the direction of Ancien Wines consultant and winemaker, Ken Bernards.
She also has completed extensive technical visits to winemaking regions in Australia, Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, South Africa, Canada, and the United States.
Pilar is undoubtedly an example of young women who fight for what they are passionate about, and this is reflected in her work and in the quality of the wines that she makes.
